FAQ

What is a Massage Therapist?

Massage Therapists are professionally trained and are experts in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sport and health and fitness.

What should I wear to my appointment?

You will want to wear something comfortable, and may wish to remove articles of clothing in order for the massage therapist to be able to fully treat the region required. You will also want to remove jewelry.

What do I need to bring?

Be prepared to provide your previous medical or surgical history. If you have them and if they are relevant bring scan/MRI reports, and list of medication.

How do I make an appointment?

You can get in touch by phone ( 604-569-3483 ) or use the form under the contact page. Alternatively use the quick and easy online booking, which is the method we prefer.

How many visits will I need?

The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the massage therapist will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.

Do I have to be referred by a doctor?

No, massage therapists can assess and treat without referral by a doctor. However most health insurers require a doctors referral before they authorize cover of fees, some only require a phone call.

What are the credentials of the therapists?

All of our Massage Therapists are certified Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) of British Columbia. To learn more about the RMT certification process please visit rmtbc.ca.

Is massage therapy covered by extended health/insurance?

Most extended medical/insurance plans cover Registered Massage Therapy treatment fees. Our clinic offers direct billing.

Do you deal with ICBC claims?

If you have an ICBC claim, please bring your adjuster’s name/number for your initial appointment. The number of treatments ICBC covers varies. We have therapists who are opted-in who can partially bill ICBC. (Please contact us for further details).

Is there parking at your clinic?

You can park underground of the Nelson Square Building or use nearby street parking. We do not have reserved customer parking. We suggest that you add extra time to your commute to find suitable parking.

How much time do I need for the initial appointment?

We require at least 45 mins treatment for the initial appointment as we would like to take some time for consultation. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to fill out the initial intake form (You can also print the intake form and bring it with you).

What is the cancellation policy?

24hr notification is necessary to change/cancel your appointment or you will be responsible for the treatment fee. Please notify us as soon as possible as a courtesy to the therapists and the other clients on waiting list if you need to change/cancel your appointment.
