What is a Massage Therapist?

Massage Therapists are professionally trained and are experts in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sport and health and fitness.

What do I need to bring?

Be prepared to provide your previous medical or surgical history, including any relevant scans, MRI reports, and medications.

How many visits will I need?

The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the massage therapist will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.

What should I wear to my appointment?

You will want to wear something comfortable, since you may wish to remove articles of clothing in order for the massage therapist to be able to fully treat that region. Please also remove any jewelry near the region to be treated.

How do I make an appointment?

We recommend using the Book Appointment link on our homepage. Alternatively, you make appointments by phone at 604 596 3483 or by using the form at the bottom of our Contact page.

Do I have to be referred by a doctor?

No, massage therapists can assess and treat clients without a referral by a doctor. However, most health insurers require a doctor’s referral before they will authorize any coverage of fees.

What are the credentials of the therapists?

All of our Massage Therapists are certified Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) of British Columbia. To learn more about the RMT certification process please visit rmtbc.ca.

Is massage therapy covered by extended health insurance and do you offer direct billing?

Most extended medical/insurance plans cover Registered Massage Therapy treatments. Please check your individual plan for details. Yes, we do offer the convenience of direct billing.

Do you deal with ICBC claims?

Yes. Please bring your adjuster’s name and number for your initial appointment and be aware that the number of treatments that ICBC covers varies. We also have massage therapists who are opted-in who can partially bill ICBC. (Please contact us for further details).

Is there parking at your clinic?

Yes, there is pay parking underground of the Nelson Square building that is accessible from Nelson Street. Unfortunately, we do not have reserved customer spaces or validate parking. There is street parking and we encourage you to be wary of signage and to add extra time to your commute to find a spot.

How much time do I need for the initial appointment?

We recommend at least 45 minutes for the initial appointment in order to do a preliminary consultation while leaving enough time to begin treating the issue. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to fill out our intake form. Alternatively, you can print the form here and bring it with you.

What is the cancellation policy?

You can change or cancel you appointment up to 24 hours prior to your appointment. Any changes or cancellations within 24 hours are subject to the full treatment fee.
